It's Alright MA

I graduated in absentia yesterday.

I shall therefore be writing to my bank, London Electricity and the La Redoute catalogue people to demand that they address all future correspondence to 'Miss Alice Dryden, M.A. (Oxon)'.

Well, I can't think of any other way it will impact on my life.

I should explain for those unfamiliar with the system that I didn't actually have to do any extra work to upgrade my Bachelor's to a Master's, just wait seven years from the start of the course and slip my college £25.

This is perfectly fair, obviously. I did a four year B.A. course and worked darn hard.

Do I perhaps feel a mite defensive about this procedure? No.
