Nice picture!

Modern browsers don't display alt text when hovering, BTW, and instead use the title attribute, the idea apparently being that the alt text is to be displayed only when the image cannot, e. g. in text-only browsers or for the blind. (Which is technically true — the best kind of true!)
Yeah, that's how I feel it should be - if the description is relevant to everyone, use caption.
