Daks over Normandy 2: Saturday 1st June

An early start and a cruise down the M23 for the 9.30 Newhaven - Dieppe sailing. We arrived in a France so sunny and warm that I was able to go for a swim when we arrived at our first tourist destination.

Deauville is a famous seaside and casino town, very possibly the inspiration for Royale-les-Eaux in Casino Royale. The main thing I wanted to see was the beach huts along the front, with partitions commemorating famous actors who have graced the town with their presence:



I also had a redcurrant yoghurt ice cream. Equally important.
