Regeneration

I was a little surprised to learn that Forest Hill has been picked as a Portas Pilot, an area singled out for high street regeneration by Mary Portas, the world's most annoying shopper. Because, really, Forest Hill? Dartmouth Road, a few minutes' walk from me, already has a shop selling knitting equipment, vintage knickknacks and handcrafted...things; an indie greetings card shop; a purveyor of expensive novelty homewares and children's clothes; and a specialist bra fitting shop which I keep meaning to experience but bottle out every time. We are not Croydon, another pilot town, and we are certainly not Dartford.

That said, it would be nice to have a clothes shop other than M&Co.
