Biking Writing

I don't think I've mentioned on here the pieces I've been writing for webBikeWorld.com.

This is a well-respected consumer review site for motorcycle clothing, accessories and literature. I got in touch with the editor in 2009, bigged up my fairly slim literary credentials, and sent a review of my bike boots, which was well-received.

Since then I've written a dozen or so further reviews - here's the complete list.

The going rate is $150 an article, or a small 'honorarium' for a shorter piece like a book review or my writeup of the Wootton Bassett rideout. The editor is very kind about ensuring I don't lose out if the exchange rate is poor.

The reviews themselves probably won't be of much interest (except perhaps to jessie_pup), but I mention them here because I have a tendency to convince myself that my successes somehow don't count.

Of course I would rather somebody paid me for some fiction, I'd rather be in print than on the web, and much of the bike stuff I buy costs more than I earn from writing about it. I will not be quitting the day job for a while. But the fact remains that I have a paid writing gig. It counts.
