April Showers

The sky was blue as I set off for karate, but I thought I'd take my umbrella in case it was raining when I came out. Halfway there, dark clouds rolled over and a few spots of rain turned in seconds to an impressive deluge.

Our dojo is in a church hall, and when I arrived some of the congregation were sheltering in the porch staring out at the downpour. I decided to be friendly and share my amazement at the weather.

In retrospect, "Good Heavens!" wasn't the best choice of phrase.

In fact I was probably directly responsible for the lightning a few moments later.
