Sweet Papa Cream Puff

I met up with silvante for lunch today, and after a sandwich suggested we check out the bizarre Beard Papa's, a recent arrival on Oxford Street, for pudding.

This is a shop that not only sells just the one product - custard-filled pastries - but sells it solely in one standard flavour plus one 'Flavour of the Day'. That such an establishment has outlived its novelty value is testament to the fabulous smell of baking pastry which wafts out of the door. The cream puffs are very good, too - huge, fresh, sweet and gooey. I had the day's special, which was Cappuccino. You wouldn't want one every day, though.

Now if only there was a shop next door selling jelly rolls.
