This IS me (by schwitters)Default

Love Song

It's a day for pampering the one you love. I took my scooter in for a service.

For Valentine's Day, I was going to list all the song titles in my iTunes containing the word 'love'. This plan was aborted when I found out there were over a hundred of the little buggers. So I thought I'd pick the ten best and write about them, but this seemed too much like hard work I couldn't choose.

Then the other day I was listening to some Paul Simon and I realised I should write about the single most moving love song in my collection.

There's nothing more boring than reading through song lyrics in someone else's journal, so I strongly suggest you listen to it instead. If you don't care to (it's a long download, sorry), lyrics are under the cut:

For me, this says it all. It's not about the first rush of love or the agony of its ending; there are the good bits, the bad bits and all the stuff in between that makes a relationship what it is.

Most people (I don't want to pick a fight with anyone who swears it's happened to them) don't find their one true soulmate. We happen to meet someone, find them attractive, they turn out to be a pretty good match, and we make a few compromises and rub along OK.

That's love.

Makes me cry every time I listen to it.

Go on, then, what's yours?
