I'm off on me travels again, this time heading to Normandy with cybersofa and the bad boys of the BWAM. I'll be taking the A3 down to Portsmouth after work, crossing to Caen in the morning, and trying not to worry about everyone else on the trip packing ten times the cc Smokey does.
(Mad propz here to galahadwarhorse, who has offered not only to put me up tonight but to reboot me at blimey! o'clock and transport me plus scooter to the ferry terminal in hir Monster Truck.)
The downside is that I won't get to see The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy until after I get back. kowarth informs me that the line about the 'pain in all the diodes down my left-hand side', a great favourite of mine, has been cut. I guess modern robots don't have diodes. 'Pain in all the FireWire ports' would have amused me, though. Meanwhile, strange_complex's report reminded me of Marvin's brief recording career, now available in MP3 format for your especial misery.
(TV Marvin is absolutely on my list of robots I would have sex with, by the way, if anyone's keeping score. Film Marvin as yet undecided, but I doubt it.)
Anyway. Road trip with my dad, yay! It'll be just like Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, only with less of the extreme psychological dysfunction. I hope.
