That was the seven o'clock edition of the news. Good night.

My scatty boss forgot The Hundred and One Dalmatians, despite the text message I sent her! I have informed her that she's ruined my Christmas. Now I have nothing to read on the journey home except Overcoming depression using cognitive behavioural therapy techniques.

She did, however, bestow upon me the Christmas gift of instant latte powder and a bottle of caramel coffee syrup, so I can make ersatz Starbucks caramel macchiato in the privacy of my own home. I suppose I can forgive, in keeping with the season. (Last year I got a sequinned purse. She's learning.)

I have said farewell to the House of the Lactating Nigerians until 2005, and in a couple of hours I will be on the train to Southampton with an IKEA bag full of gifts for my nearest and dearest. Merry Christmas to one and all!
