A Billy Full Of Biggleses
My mum's house move shortly before Christmas forced me to bin or box up those childhood possessions still cluttering up my old bedroom - mostly books. My long-suffering flatmate kindly collected many of these boxes for me and they have been cluttering up our flat ever since.
On Sunday, Long-Suffering Flatmate and I went to IKEA, where I bought a Billy bookcase to store my W. E. Johns collection. This is the first time I've been able to keep all my Biggles and Worrals books in one place, and I am wildly excited. I assembled the bookcase in my bedroom so I can look across and gloat whenever I want.
( Behold! )In fact those shelves look a little bare and I wish I hadn't got rid of all my duplicates (and the Gimlet and sci-fi books, because they're dead boring) in order to fill fewer boxes. Ah well - I expect I'll collect some more.
Lying down on the bottom shelf, should you be interested, we have three comic books (two Belgian, one French); the book of the (appalling) film; five issues of
Book & Magazine Collector with Johns content; and something else what I've forgotten what it is.
